I recently had the privilege of presenting part of my PhD research and creative work on Composed Spaces at the Spring School 'Sonic Dialogues', held at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien (mdw) on the 12th, 13th & 14th of June, 2024. This event, themed around visual and sound art, as well as performance in public spaces, was an incredible opportunity to share my work, engage with fellow researchers, and immerse myself in the cultural scene of Vienna.
My presentation focused on generating conversation between participants in a live arts context, using Click to the Dark Side, We Have Cookies as a case study. You can find more information on this project here.
Participating in 'Sonic Dialogues' allowed me to connect with fellow early-stage researchers and artists. The discussions and exchanges of ideas were invaluable, and I was deeply inspired by the diverse perspectives, innovative projects presented and the vibrant conversations that followed the presentations.
Vienna was an absolute delight. From its rich history and stunning architecture to its vibrant arts scene, I had an amazing time exploring the city. The experience was enriching both personally and professionally.
I am incredibly grateful to the Harbutt Fund donors and Bath Spa University for awarding me the International Travel Fund and for their support, which made my participation in this conference possible. I also extend my heartfelt thanks to mdw for accepting me into Sonic Dialogues and providing such a welcoming and intellectually stimulating environment. Thank you to everyone who made this experience memorable. I look forward to future opportunities to collaborate and share ideas within this incredible community.
